What it can do (approx)
- Frigate: ~25 cameras at 5 fps detection.
- Plex/Jellyfin: ~12 concurrent 1080p transcodes.
- Local LLM: up to ~33B (Q4).
Where it fits
Needs a box with a PCIe slot and enough power - most mini PCs can't take it, so plan a DIY build (a case + a real PSU).
Used - the cheapest 24GB card. Maxwell (slow, power-hungry) but big VRAM for local LLMs. 250W passive, DIY chassis + shroud.
Gotchas
- Bought used (eBay) - great value, but no warranty; check the fans and that NVENC session limits are patched.
