What it can do (approx)
- Frigate: ~25 cameras at 5 fps detection.
- Local LLM: up to ~20B (Q4).
Where it fits
Needs a box with a PCIe slot and enough power - most mini PCs can't take it, so plan a DIY build (a case + a real PSU).
Used compute card - 16GB HBM2, high bandwidth for LLMs. GP100 has NO video encoder, so it does not transcode. 250W passive, DIY.
Gotchas
- AI-only accelerator - it runs Frigate detection but does NOT transcode video. Pair it with an iGPU/GPU for Plex/Jellyfin.
- Bought used (eBay) - great value, but no warranty; check the fans and that NVENC session limits are patched.
