ServerRigs helps you choose the right compute for a home server or homelab, using data and fit logic instead of marketing.

What we do

  • Compare homelab mini PCs and accelerators by the specs that actually matter for self-hosting: iGPU transcode capability (QuickSync/Arc), NICs, idle power, cores, RAM ceiling, and expansion slots.
  • Turn specs into answers. Our calculators estimate Plex transcode streams, Frigate camera counts, and local-LLM fit, and the build planner checks that a given accelerator physically fits a given box before you buy.
  • Recommend by workload. Tell us what you are building - Plex, Frigate, Proxmox, a firewall, or local LLMs - and the recommender ranks the catalogue on the one spec that matters for that job.
  • Track prices across regions (US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Canada) so you see what a box actually costs where you are.

Our principles

  • Fit before hype. A box only earns a recommendation if it can actually do the job - the right iGPU generation for your streams, enough NICs for a router, a real slot for that GPU.
  • Honest about limits. Specs are curated and approximate, some idle-power and price figures are estimates, and we say so. We never invent numbers, and every product still links out so you can confirm the details yourself.
  • Independent. Rankings follow the specs and the fit logic, not affiliate commissions.
